Some inoffensive corn snakes emulate the distinctive colorful rings of the real poisonous coral snakes to mislead their predators. This effect in nature is known as “adaptive mimesis”. I was interested in the use of color and imitation as protection, so I made a costume to wear and send a false alarm of danger.
